Dipslide Incubators
A dipslide incubator is a critical element of microbiological monitoring. Weekly tests according to the guidance notes for the control of legionella bacteria in water systems must be kept at 30° for 48 hours.
Too low a temperature can mean the bacteria will grow more slowly and give a false low result. If your reading is artificially low then the treatment engineer will consider that no action is necessary and the bacteria will be free to multiply and increase the risk to public health. Conversely if the temperature is high then the growth may be accelerated giving a false positive. This false high bacteria count can lead to unnecessary and expensive extra cleaning and treatment processes.

Drop Test Reagents Made Simple
The combination of two reagents is very popular with treatment engineers as it simplifies the test, reduces the reagents you carry in your kit and sp
eeds up the test procedure.
IRON HR - DTK offer an alternative to the FE6 and FE8, the option of a single reagent for the measurement of iron is now available to read on a comparator. Simply add 10 drops of FE10 to the 10ml sample and read it against the disc.
PHOSPHONATE HR - Personal preference is important and but it is also important to have a choice. DTK can offer an alternative to P1 and P2 as we have launched the P1/2 combined reagent.
It doesn't just stop there! DTK have also launched P4L as an alternative to the P4 tablet. Many engineers find the time taken to crush a tablet frustrating when they are on a deadline so we now have a liquid version of the tablet in the form of P4L. It is simple and offers the following benefits:
- No wasted time crushing tablets
- No residue remains - complete dissolution means complete reaction
- The end point colour change is more defined
- Liquid gives more tests
