CHLORINE HR TEST | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chlorine and chlorine release products are commonly used for the disinfection or sterilization of water systems, storage tanks and pipe work. Chlorine based solutions are also used on plant and equipment in food and beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical factories and similar applications. The levels of chlorine in these applications are higher than those normally used for the disinfection of potable water. The accurate determination or measurement of the chlorine level is necessary to ensure the disinfection process is effective. The DTK method provides a simple means of testing total chlorine up to 300ppm*. The DTK Chlorine HR test reagent is compatible with many of the leading manufacturers of photometers. |

The DTK Chlorine HR test is based on an iodine release method. Chlorine reacts with the potassium iodide in acid solution to release iodine which is brown in colour. The reagents are supplied in two liquids, HR and Acidifying, each 65ml bottles. The test is carried out by simply adding three drops of each solution to the sample. The intensity of the colour produced is proportional to the chlorine concentration and can be measured using a comparator or a photometer. |
